Cool Cat Assembly

The last Thursday of each month we recognize Theuerkauf students for positive behavior and academic achievements. Cool Cat Certificates are awarded when a student exemplifies

one of the four Core Values integrity, responsibility, respect and courage. Students may receive one of these certificates any time a teacher notices one of these excellent behaviors.

Two students from each grade level will be chosen at random from the cool cat certificates collected that month to win a prize. Our next Cool Cat Assembly will be Tomorrow

Thursday, February 1st  at 8:35am out on the playground.

West Bay Opera - Cancelled and will be rescheduled

West Bay Opera needed to reschedule this assembly that was scheduled for tomorrow, February 1st.  We will send out an update in our next Cheetah Chatter.

School Site Council Meeting next Wednesday, February 7th

Staff Parking Lot

Transportation safety is a priority for our students and families. We will be sending updates and reminders about traffic safety for our school.

A friendly reminder that the back parking lot is for staff parking.  This area is not designed for student pick up and drop off or parent parking.  Please park your vehicle in

the front lot or nearby street.  We appreciate your support and help with traffic safety for our children and families.

Walk, Ride & Roll Day - Thursday, February 8

All students who walk, bike, carpool, or ride the bus to school will receive a raffle ticket and be entered into a drawing to win a bicycle and helmet!

If you live too far away to walk all the way you can find a safe place to park close to school and walk the rest of the way. Join in the fun to reduce traffic, help keep our school

safer and help keep the air.

The MVEF Winter Gala and Auction is less than one month away! Come join parents and community members as we gather to raise funds to support every child, at every school!

You can dance, bid on amazing auction items, buy some wine, grab a gift card or two to your favorite restaurants, all the while ensuring that MVEF meets their goal of raising over

$750,000 to bring art, music, hands-on science, environmental field trips, middle school  athletics and more to all MVWSD students!

Learn more here: Dinner tickets are going fast. Purchase by February 1st to guarantee a seat!

Now, more Mountain View families are eligible for MVWSD’s preschool program, due to recent changes at the state and county level.

Through the Santa Clara Child Care Subsidy Pilot, the income eligibility ceiling for those applying for our free preschool program is now $71,065/year (a family of 4).

Additionally, children who have their third birthday on or before December 1st (as opposed to September 1st) can now enroll in preschool, though priority enrollment for 4 year olds has not changed.

To make it even easier, families no longer have to re-certify or re-apply to the preschool program and prove income eligibility requirements in their child's second year of preschool.

Their initial application will remain valid for 24 months, without worry that income changes could affect their child’s preschooling.

The highly-rated MVWSD Preschool is currently enrolling for a few remaining spaces for 2017-18 and accepting applications for the 2018-19 school year.

Enrollment for 2018-19 will begin in March.  See for applications and details.
