CAASPP
California students participate in the statewide testing program, the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). The tests in CAASPP provide information to teachers parents/guardians, and students about students’ progress and readiness for college and career. Testing will happen after spring break. Schools will send our specific dates to their communities. Children in grades 3-8 will take the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments or California Alternate Assessments for ELA(English language arts/literacy) and Mathematics.
MVEF Winter Gala
The MVEF Winter Gala was a magical night, filled with food, fun, and philanthropy, as parents, teachers, District staff, city council and school board members, and corporate sponsors came together to support every child at every school in MVWSD. As we "Let the Music Play, MVEF raised over $70,000, including a special fundraiser during dinner that raised $15,000 specifically to repair and purchase instruments for our 5th graders and middle schoolers. MVEF thanks its guests, donors, sponsors, volunteers, and staff who made this night successful.
You may have noticed a new checkmark on your school's MVEF sign as it hit the $600,000 marker. MVEF still needs to raise over $150,000 to meet its financial commitment to the district. Help continue to bring Community School of Music and Arts music and art lessons, hands-on science, Living Classroom, and middle school athletics and extended day electives to our children by donating to mvef.org.
