Welcome back to school! What a great start to our school year. It was great to see smiling and excited faces all around campus these past two days. As I spoke with students around campus, many of them didn’t sleep much the night before school because they were ‘too excited to sleep’. It is so great to hear this positive excitement among students. As we step into our academic year, I would like to kick off our school year with a quote from Henry Ford, “If you think you can do a thing or you think you can’t, you’re right.” A new school year is an opportunity to maintain the implementation of the initiatives already in place and enhance our student support, both academic and social emotional, by adding or enhancing our initiatives. Building on last year’s success, our school staff will be engaging in streamlining our positive behavior student supports and implementing a social emotional behavioral program for whole child development that builds common language for student support across campus. Through the year, we will also be working towards integrating more academic hands-on learning experiences for our learners and towards application of learning by stimulating critical thinking and problem solving skills among our learners. Partnership with our families and community is an integral part of our success. I encourage you to become involved, through our Parent-teacher Association (PTA), English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), School Site Council (SSC), or as parent volunteers in the classroom. Your feedback and support are essential to our continued success and improvement. I am excited to be a partner in your child’s educational journey at Theuerkauf. Go Cheetahs!

Principal’s Coffee Tomorrow, August 23

Please join Ms. Dagar this Thursday, August 23 at 8:40am in room 25 for our first Principal's Coffee.  This is a great opportunity to meet other parents and get to know the school principal. There will be an opportunity for open discussion and questions.  We hope that you are able to join the first principal’s coffee of the school year.

Drop Off and Pick Up

Please use only the front parking lot by the school office to drop off and pick up your child by car. The yellow zone on San Luis Street needs to be clear for our school buses.  For the safety of staff and students, the back parking lot is used only for staff parking. Thank you.

If Your Child is Absent

Please call the attendance line at (650) 903-6925. If the office staff does not answer you will be prompted to press 2 and leave a message. Please provide your child’s name and reason for absence.

Before School Breakfast

Breakfast will be served from 7:45-8:15a.m. in Room 20. Students that miss breakfast in the morning can get breakfast during morning recess. You can prepay your child’s lunch at www.EZSchoolpay.com or you can pay Mrs. Harris in Room 20.

Visitors and Volunteers

If you are joining us during school hours, welcome! Let us know you are with us. Anymore coming after student drop off must check-in at the office and get a visitor’s pass. We are glad you are sharing part of your day with us. Also, we know you are going to try and encourage your children to get out the door with everything they need for the school day in the morning, but on the off chance that something gets left behind, bring the forgotten item to the office. We will get it to the classroom. Thanks!
