 Principal's Message

Dear Cheetah Community,

iReady Overview @ Principal’s/PTA Coffee - Friday, December 13, 2024

On Friday I will be giving an overview of our iReady data. You will be receiving individual scores on 12/20 through Powerschool. I can’t hold it in any longer though - ALL grade levels have a higher tier 1 (on grade level) percentage than this time last year!! Apprehension about not having iReady daily lessons can be put at ease! The incredible work that teachers are doing to teach Amplify curriculum based on the science of reading is working! All of our reading intervention (RI) is working! Grouping students by what their needs are based on data for RTI and ELD is working! Our reading scores are improving and I can’t wait to celebrate with you on Friday! Gooo Cheetahs!

Spirit Week - Monday, Dec. 16- Dec. 20th

Our Expect Respect students kicked off their meeting by discussing spirit days for next week! Please see the different events for each day!

Theuerkauf Showcase @ District Board of Education Meeting 12/19/24 @ 6pm

Next week tune into the board meeting at 6pm. You can find the live stream link and agenda at mvwsd.org. Theuerkauf will be showcasing highlights of our new Amplify curriculum and our Wellness Center/Zen Den! I can’t wait to show off all of our hard work and hear directly from the students about what makes this year’s learning so great!

Please Give a Warm Welcome to Interim Principal - Margaret Poor

It is my pleasure to introduce you to Margaret Poor who will take over while I am on maternity leave with baby Lyons! If all goes as planned, Margaret will begin on Monday, January 13th. She has already been supporting teachers this year at Theuerkauf as an English Language coach so she is familiar with our school and will do a great job continuing our mission and vision. It is so bittersweet to go out on leave, but I do plan to return in June. I will truly miss this community of parents, staff, and students that all work together to make Theuerkauf the best school that it can be! I will be cheering you and your child on in spirit. However, now is my time to get to have my own little cheetah and experience the beauty of this next chapter in my life. Thank you for partnering with Ms. Margaret Poor and the Theuerkauf staff as I enter motherhood!

Warm Regards,

Principal Danielle Lyons

At least two weeks prior written notice must be given to the front office for an ISP. Please submit written requests to the school principal at [email protected] and secretary at [email protected] and include the dates your student will be absent, the date your student will return, and the reason for absence. Independent Study Plans are at the discretion of the school principal.

Important Notice RE: Items dropped off

during school hours.

One of our core values at Theuerkauf is Responsibility. There has been a large increase in items forgotten and dropped off items during the day. Sometimes it is challenging to get items to students in a timely manner and we want to minimize interruptions of lessons during class time so all students can stay focused on their education.

Please support your child at home by going through a quick checklist before leaving: Warm jacket, hat or gloves if needed, lunch box, backpack, instrument, homework, etc.

Thank you for supporting our core value of Responsibility and minimizing classroom interruptions.

If you do need to drop off a forgotten item please label it with the following so there is no confusion or mix ups. Please note that the office staff will do their best to get it to the students in a timely manner:

  1. Student name

  2. Grade

  3. Teacher and Room #
