 Principal's Message

Dear Cheetah Community,

United Against Hate Week! This week!

This week we kicked off United Against Hate. It is an important time to revisit and reflect on how we treat others and ourselves. Students have an extra challenge this week to go out of their way to notice greatness in others and themselves. Campus tear-off pages are being used and students are taking the positive words of encouragement that they need. In the classroom students are noticing other’s great work, perseverance or great qualities and passing a bracelet around that says “You Rock!” Students are also participating in specific grade level lessons.  We have the ability every day to brighten someone else’s day and that is what we are working extra hard to do this week! Go Cheetahs!

Family Involvement Challenge - Take a picture with your tear off page and family and post to Theuerkauf Facebook or send it to me [email protected] so I can see where you posted around Mountain View! Let me know if I have permission to post it to instagram or facebook! OR feel free to post your picture in a comment directly on my post (Click Here) Theuerkauf facebook page

EarthCapades Assembly TK-5 on Wednesday 11/20

This week students will attend an assembly to learn more about the importance and science of the Earth’s most precious resource, water! EarthCapades has also sent a follow up document to extend the learning. Feel free to click through some of these extension lessons with your child during the long Thanksgiving break to learn more. Here are some of the topics: Drought Watch, Water Conservation, The Water Cycle, Water Science, Clean Water, Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, Rainbow Science, and Indigenous Activism & Culture. I highly recommend clicking on some of the links having to do with Indigenous People, where their native land is located on the map and how they honored the earth and our land. EarthCapades H2O Show Teacher Resources 2024/2025

Proposition 28 Survey Feedback Continues!

Thank you to parents who have filled out the survey to share more about how we can use our new Prop 28 funds of about $50,000 to enhance our arts and music experiences at Theuerkauf. If you have not shared your ideas yet, please click on the survey below or attend one of the remaining upcoming meetings.

  1. Survey: Please click here for a brief survey about potential future arts programming. (The students and staff will be given similar surveys at school). This survey will be open until December 15.

  2. Come and hear more about Prop 28 and give input on this topic at these upcoming meetings:

  • School Site Council, Monday, 12/9 @3:15 in the Conference Room or GoogleMeets - dzb-hpgg-kwh

  • Prop 28 / Outdoor Learning Meeting, 12/12 @3:15-4:15 (Zoom Link

Your input is valued and an important part of our process. To learn more about Proposition 28, click here.

With Thanksgiving next week I wanted to take a moment to share my gratitude for this community. When I think of all the progress and cherished moments that have been created in just a short 3.5 months it is truly incredible to reflect upon. The love and commitment to student growth that emanates from all members of this community is something to be proud of and I am grateful for. In my opinion, Theuerkauf is thriving because of our partnership. I am so grateful for the community we have built and I look forward to our journey ahead. Thank you for partnering with me as we continue to make Theuerkauf the best it can be for our cheetahs! I am so grateful to be your leader. Thank you.

Warm Regards,

Principal Danielle Lyons
