| Principal's Message |
Dear Cheetah Community,
It brought me so much joy to see our community come together for a fantastic Trunk or Treat Event! I want to give a special thank you to PTA member, Jessica Merino, for taking the lead on the event! Students were bursting with excitement as they celebrated being a part of the cheetah community with all of their family and friends. It was even fun to go down the spooky walk to Stevenson as well! Coming together and showcasing our pride is something that we do best!
On this same note, we have an opportunity to further support our cheetah community with the start of a food drive for any of our families in need. Ms. Tellez and Ms. Garvey put together this food drive which starts as soon as you read this! We want to make sure our families are well supported. If you have any food you can donate, please send it in with your child to the front office. Families in need, please reach out to the email addresses provided. We are cheetah strong and always better when we are working together.
Next week is Literacy Spirit Week to Celebrate Children’s Book Week!
Enjoy showing your spirit as we celebrate all next week with staff reading posters around the campus by our librarian, Ms. Baikie, spirit week created by our student leaders, and Reading Sleepover Party by our Theuerkauf teachers!
Reading Sleepover - Wednesday, November 5th from 5-6:15pm. TK - 5th grade
Dinner will be provided from 5-5:25pm. Then parents will gather in separate classrooms to learn about Reading and Writing! Students will be all together in the MUR participating in literacy activities and a final giveaway at the end! Please feel free to wear your PJs and bring a blanket or sleeping bag to set up in the MUR. It will be a night filled with learning, community, and the love of literacy!
Costume Parade Friday, October 31 - 8:15-8:30am Blacktop
We will have a school wide costume parade on the blacktop. We will start to make two lines at 8:10. We will then have each grade level walk through the two lines to show off their costume. We will cheer and clap. If you prefer your child is not a part of this costume parade, please let their teacher know and we will have a separate fall activity for them during that 15 minutes!
Costume Reminders:
-
No masks allowed so we can see everyone’s face.
-
No hand held “props” will be allowed out at recess, feel free to take these home after the parade.
-
Violence – no pretend “prop” weapons at all allowed on campus such as guns, knives, or swords. We would like to promote costumes that align with our values of being kind and inclusive.
-
Appropriateness – costumes cannot promote violence or be offensive or inappropriate in any way.
Holiday Cards Fundraiser!
As the holiday season approaches, if you plan to send out holiday cards, try using Minted! I have never sent out holiday cards, but this year Stella will be a star on the “Favorite Joys” themed card. PTA is hosting this Minted fundraising program. With every purchase Minted donates 10% back!
Use code: FUNDRAISETHEUEKAUF to save 20%. Minted donates 10% back! www.minted.com

Drafts available: Single Plans for Student Achievement
Each year, our schools create Single Plans for Student Achievement (SPSAs or “site plans”) that guide the work for the coming year. These plans help us prioritize programs and strategies that will best serve our students. In the fall, elected parent representatives from School Site Councils and English Language Advisory Committees work with principals and school staff members to create a draft that is reviewed and approved by the MVWSD Board of Trustees. Parents and staff members may give feedback through Nov. 4 to their principal and elected parent representatives to SSC and ELAC. You may review the draft plans here.
Smart Ways to Give to MVEF: Stock Donations & Corporate Matching
Have you ever considered donating stock to MVEF? It’s one of the most tax-smart ways to give — and it directly supports art, music, science, athletics, and more for every MVWSD student.
Many in our community trade stock or receive RSUs from local companies, and donating appreciated shares directly to MVEF is simple and efficient. Find stock transfer instructions here.
Your employer might also help you double your impact!
Many local companies offer matching gifts or employee giving days in October–December, multiplying the effect of your contribution. Corporate matches and grants are a major part of MVEF’s annual funding, helping us reach our $1.2M goal for 2025–26. Check if your company matches donations to MVEF here.
Thank you for helping MVEF enrich every student’s learning experience!
