From the Principal's Desk

Hello Wonderful Theuerkauf Families!

Hope you are staying dry and warm in this rainy and cold weather. What perfect timing to have our Multi-Use Room (MUR) ready?! Students are now able to avail it and stay warm and cozy during indoor lunch and before school time. It’s exciting!

Do you know of anyone who has a student eligible for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and lives in our school district boundaries? Please help us by inviting them to our school’s TK information Evening tonight from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Parents will get an opportunity to get insight into the day of a TK’er at our school, get to meet the teachers and ask questions.

We have some important enrollment and information evenings coming up:

Theuerkauf Kindergarten Information Night - Wednesday, December 11, 2019, 6:00-7:00 p.m

School Tour for new incoming families - Thursday, December 12, 2019, 9:00-10:00 a.m

We are excited to host Superintendent Rudolph at our school on Friday, December 13, 2019 for Coffee and Conversations with Superintendent, 9:00 a.m. Please join us for this event.

News from the classrooms:

Did you see the 5th graders’ Book Report Diorama Boxes that are showcased in the front office? If not, do stop by and check out the bulletin board. Our 5th graders did a great job representing their books into these dioramas. Good job, kiddos!

News from the Transitional Kindergarten Classrooms: During my classroom walkthroughs on Tuesday morning, I got to witness the start of the day in a TK classroom with Project Cornerstone read aloud led by our PC Lead - Mrs. Teresa Peters. Such a great start to the day for our youngest learners. Mrs. Peters started her lesson by reviewing the ABC rules and went on to read the Book - One by Kathryn Otoshi. It’s a great book on communicating and working things out. It provides a lesson on how one can take steps to work things out by verbalizing the problem, listening to understand, ways to solve it, and choosing the best plan. If you would like to read the book with your child at home, please feel free to use the YouTube link below for a video of the book. It’s a great book to review the lesson with your student and talk about the lesson in the story.

In the end, I would like to remind all Kindergarten - 5th grade families of the i-Ready benchmark assessments that are happening this week and next week. Please make sure your child comes to school on time each day so they do not miss the start of the day or assessment. Student reports will be sent home to parents in January.

It is a privilege to serve your student and such a joy to see them grow and learn each day at school. Thank you for your continued commitment and support for our school.

Together, Upward and Beyond!

Sincerely,

Ms. Swati Dagar

Principal
