From the Principal's Desk

Dear Theuerkauf Families,

As we wrap up the month of October, we are excited for so many wonderful things happening at our school! Our 2nd Annual Fearkauf Festival last Friday was a huge success. Thank you to all that made it possible! What a great event to bring our school community together. (Do check out some pictures from the festival on our school Facebook page).

End of the trimester is Friday, November 1.It’s a minimum day and dismissal for all students is at 12:30 p.m. Your child’s report card will be sent home in an envelope in your students backpack on Friday, November 15. If you have any questions about your child’s grades, as always, please arrange a conversation or meeting with the teacher who can provide more details.

We are excited about our Halloween Parade today and look forward to you joining us. Please see schedule below for details:

Halloween Parade - Thursday, October 31, 11:50 a.m - 12:20 p.m

Please mark your calendars for our Halloween Parade! If you’re driving, please plan on coming a little early and have a plan for where you will park around in the neighborhood. Remember, the parking lot is for staff only.

1st - 5th Grade Halloween Parade will be at 11:50 a.m in the field area. Parents are invited to join us for the parade and take pictures of their child at the parade. We will have an area marked off for our parade route on the field and students will be walking along the marked area. Parents can take pictures and cheer on the parade from outside the marked area.

Other important details:

  • Students may wear costumes during the day on Halloween Day as long as it is safe and not distracting to do so.

  • Masks, excessive gore, and sharp/dangerous props (fake weapons) are not allowed.

  • Please do not send students to school with candy.

Let’s enjoy and have a safe, fun Halloween. Look forward to seeing you today!

Vision to Learn

Originally, Vision to Learn (VTL) was going to come to Theuerkauf to offer vision service to students who failed the vision screenings. Unfortunately, due to the company’s lack of funding and being understaffed, they will not be returning to the district this school year.

Students who failed the vision screening will have referrals sent home. Please follow up with an eye doctor to determine if your child has a vision problem. We ask that you have the eye doctor complete the referral form that we send home and return to the school office. If you have any questions or concerns, please call 650-526-3500, ext. 1053.
