A. The Mountain View Whisman School District usually schedules a district-wide Kindergarten Info Night in mid-January. Theuerkauf also hosts its own Kinder Info Night in late January each year. This includes a chance to tour the classrooms and meet the kindergarten teachers. In addition, a morning tour of the kindergarten classrooms is offered the following day. These events are intended for adults only. If you wish to tour the classrooms with your incoming kindergartener, we invite you to attend our annual Open House evening, which is held every year in late March.
Q. My child is not scheduled to receive his regular vaccines until after my in-person registration appointment at the district office. Do I really need to get them done before I go?
A. Yes, you will need to show paperwork certifying that you have completed all required immunization when you go to the district office, including a tuberculosis (PPD) test performed within 12 months of your appointment (not before "school entry"). You will not receive your SnapCode to complete the registration process until you complete this step.
A. Class assignments will be posted outside the school office at 4pm on the Friday before the new school year begins. Watch the school calendar for the date once it’s been finalized.
The PTA will host a variety of tables at this event, including an opportunity to purchase Theuerkauf shirts and other gear. It is fun for the kids to have their t-shirts at the beginning of school and they are encouraged to wear them every Friday for Spirit Day. You will also be able to learn about the PTA (Parent Teacher Association), rewards programs, Walkathon, and other important programs at school.
A. Yes, there is usually a Kindergarten social on the Friday before school starts for all kindergarteners and their families. It will be in the early afternoon, outside the kindergarten classrooms.

A. There are several ways to help, even if you can't be there during school hours. Many teachers have jobs for parents at home. They will ask for volunteers for these jobs at Back-to-School night. If you don't see these jobs on a Sign-up Sheet at Back-to-School night, let your teacher know that you're willing to help from home and he/she will contact you when a need arises.
A. Every Friday is Theuerkauf Spirit Day, on which we encourage all students to wear Theuerkauf t-shirts to show their school spirit. You may purchase Theuerkauf gear from the PTA by filling out the order form which you can find in the front office. Give the form, along with your payment, to your student's teacher or to Mary or Sherri in the front office.
A. On the last Friday morning of the month, the entire school meets on the playground blacktop.
