Please grab some pom poms and help me cheer on all the students as well play some music in the morning to get them excited to show what they know! Please remember to make sure students are on time each day and get a good night’s sleep with lots of encouragement of how they are going to do great if they just focus on trying their best! That is all we ask!

Testing Schedule

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week

Thank you for showering the teachers and staff this week with so much food and love! You continue to be a vital part of our community and we feel it this week especially! Thank you for joining us for the volunteer breakfast! Your daily hard work of getting students to school on time, supporting them with important study skills at home, reminding students of the importance of school and trying their best is the best kind of support you can give! We are all teachers to your child so please make sure to take a moment to give yourself a round of applause as well! It takes a community to support each other, and that is what we are! Gooo Cheetahs!!

School Site Council! 5/15 @ 3:15-4:15pm

We are looking for one more member for next year’s School Site Council! Theuerkauf School Site Council (SSC) is a decision-making, leadership group composed of the Principal, teachers, classified staff, and parents/community members. The SSC plays an important role in the continuous improvement of our students’ education by reviewing, approving, and monitoring the annual Theuerkauf Site Plan and categorical monies that fund the plan. As a member, you will review and analyze student performance, ask hard questions and participate in thoughtful discussions, and work on a team with staff and the Principal.

Please nominate yourself or someone you know by using this form: School Site Council 24-25 Nomination Form

Bookmobile - 5/9 @ 12:00

Come pick out library books on Thursday in front of the Library! See you there!!
Quick Tip: Schedule in 10-20 minutes a day to read a book with your child or have them read to you! This should be a sacred time that nothing interferes with. Have your child pick the perfect place to read! I always loved cuddling up with a cozy blanket or reading under a tree on the soft grass.

Warm Regards,

Principal, Danielle Lyons

Library Update

Theuerkauf Library will close to students on May 17th to allow time to ensure all books are returned before the last day of school. Students will visit the library the week of May 13-17, but will not be checking out books that week.

If your student has a lost or damaged book, you have options to replace the book:

1. Replace book with exact copy--either new or used (in good condition).

2. Replace book with another book--new or used–of similar value and topic.

3. Discuss with classroom teacher and Mrs. B other options such as reading aloud to a younger class, writing book recommendations to be used in the library, etc.

Thank you for encouraging your student to read. The Mountain View Public Library has a summer reading program along with STEAM, art, music, and other activities. Please check the MVPL calendar and the flyers attached to the Cheetah Chatter. Have a wonderful summer!

Volunteer Badges

Thank you so much to all of our volunteers this year! Please be ready to turn in your volunteer badge by the last day of school 5/31! We need to collect them all before the end of the year. Thank you!

Mental Health Month

May is Mental Health Month! Did you know that about half of Americans will meet the criteria for a diagnosable mental health condition at sometime in their lives? This month we’ll be exploring “Where to Start” when it comes to taking care of your own well-being.

One great mental health resource available to all families is MVWSD’s Virtual Wellness Center. The Virtual Wellness Center includes community mental health resources for children, teens, and adults. Check it out at: bit.ly/4b5sDnN

Better Together: May

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, a time dedicated to recognizing the rich history, cultural diversity, and significant contributions of the Asian American Pacific Islander community to our society. It's an opportunity to celebrate the many achievements and the vibrant traditions that AAPI individuals bring to the fabric of our communities. As we honor this important month, it's also an excellent moment to reflect on the #BetterTogether theme of recognizing our own self-worth. Each of us, regardless of background, has unique strengths and an intrinsic value that contributes positively to our communities and the world at large. Celebrating AAPI Heritage Month reminds us to appreciate not only the diversity around us but also the value within ourselves, fostering a deeper understanding and respect for all.
