 Principal's Message

Dear Cheetah Community,

I hope you had a fantastic week off! It was so wonderful to see all of the smiling faces back on campus on Monday! We have already kicked off the week with our iReady math diagnostic. Today, Wednesday, starts the iReady Reading Diagnostic. Please support your child with getting to bed early so they are refreshed and ready to try their best for the iReady reading diagnostic.

Reminder - Conferences Next Week, Time to Sign Up!

The link below has the teacher sign up pages for conferences December 4th-8th. Find your teacher and click on their link to make your appointment. We strongly encourage you to come to school for an in-person conference. However, our main goal is that ALL families meet with their child’s teacher, so if it works best for your schedule to have your conference on zoom, that is available as well! Please make sure to show up on time. Again, our goal is for all families to connect with their child’s teacher so we can all support each cheetah to make the most growth possible this school year! You are one of the most important teachers in your child’s life. Let us partner together and help you learn even more about your child as a student.

Parent University - Effective Communication  Parent U 11/27/23 (Spanish)

If you missed our Parent University here is the slide deck. We had a teacher panel talk about effective communication and also gave some suggestions of what to do before the conference, during the conference and after the conference. There are also some suggestions for questions you could ask your teacher!

We look forward to seeing all families participate in conferences next week! Let’s partner together to support your child’s growth!

Warm Regards,

Principal Danielle Lyons

After reporting a COVID positive absence on the attendance line or by email click here to fill out the COVID reporting form. When you have a doctor or dentist appointment, please bring your note so the tardiness or absent will be excused. If we do not hear from you within 72 hours, the absence will be marked as unexcused. Please let us know how we can support your student. Thank you

Gate Locking Communication

For student and staff safety, it's very important for our school to limit points of entry during school hours. As you know, we have been working on enabling the locks on our field gates during the school day. Beginning Nov. 27, the field gates will be locked from the outside shortly after the last morning bell rings. It is very important that we eliminate tardiness so students get the education they deserve right from the first bell. However, if they are tardy, please have them go in through the front office and pick up a tardy slip from Ms. Gaby or Ms. Sherri. If there is anything we can do to support on time arrival for school. Please reach out. Parents will be able access school field gates for student pick up when the dismissal bell rings. The public will continue to have access to school fields on weekends and on weekday evenings after 4 p.m. at elementary schools and after 5 p.m. at middle schools.  If the gates malfunction after hours, you can call (650) 526-3248 x1004. Thank you for supporting our safety procedures.

This year, community donations to MVEF are providing:

  • More than 8,500 Art4Schools lessons in 130 TK-5th Grade classrooms.

  • Over 17,000 Music4Schools lessons in 170 TK-5th Grade Classrooms.

  • Over 500 Living Classroom lessons for all students in TK-6th grade.

  • Environmental Science lessons and field trips for all 4th and 5th graders.

  • Additional English Language Arts teachers to reduce the average class size in grades 6-8.

  • Supplemental funding for Performing Arts, Music, and Athletics Teams in grades 6-8.

When we achieve our fundraising goals, we can do even more for our students!
