 Principal's Message

Dear Cheetah Community,

REGISTER by Friday 2/9/24!

73% of TH students are re-registered for next year! We increased from 55-73%! Let’s keep it going! All students need to be registered by this Friday. If you need help, Ms. Lisset has blocked off her whole week to take calls or have in person visits. Call or Email her: [email protected] or Click on https://www.mvwsd.org/register for all the details.

I wanted to give a huge thank you to our PTA for putting on the fantastic Friendship Dance this past Friday! Thank you for continuing to bring us all together and thank you to everyone who came! It was a blast!

Math Night Festival! March 6th 5:30-7pm

Our next big event will be a math night where parents and students can learn new strategies and engage in fun, hands-on math activities. Dinner will be provided! We do need some volunteers for set up and station rotations. If that sounds interesting to you, you can reach out to Ms. Lisset! [email protected]

Drum roll please…..

If you haven’t heard already, the winner of our monthly attendance for the best grade level’s attendance rate is 4th grade! They won two months in a row! Attendance is extremely important to us at Theuerkauf so students get the chance to soak up every moment of learning here at Theuerkauf. Please continue to get your child to school on time!

Celebrating Black History Month with our core value: Courage

On Monday, at our Cool Cats assembly we discussed academic courage with a focus on growth mindset (I can’t do this YET! Mistakes are how we learn!). We also focused on behavioral courage with a focus on standing up for what is right (building off of integrity from last month) During this month teachers are conducting lessons to not only celebrate the wonderful leaders who had courage that represent Black History Month, but also discussing the core values that those leaders had. Many of those leaders had courage to take a stand for what is right and be an upstander. The conversations and learning around these courageous leaders is inspiring. Please continue the conversation with your child at home about our core value of courage!

Warm Regards,

Principal Danielle Lyons

Better Together: February

February marks a very important time in our district where we pause to honor and celebrate Black History Month, shining a spotlight on the rich contributions and achievements of African Americans in our community and throughout our shared history. It serves as a reminder to us all to acknowledge the struggles and triumphs that have shaped the Black experience in the US. This month #BetterTogether also encourages us to speak up about the importance of equality, justice, and the ongoing fight against systemic racism. The essential question for the month is: How do I speak up for myself and for others? Black History Month offers us an opportunity to recognize and appreciate the diversity that makes our community strong, and to use our voices to advocate for positive change for all. For more information about Better Together, visit mvwsd.org/BetterTogetherMVWSD.
